Merry Christmas with Freshly Made Sketches!

Hello,

I hope you had a nice weekend, all refreshed and ready for a new week!  Our weather here in Southern Ontario, was not great - it is already starting to have that fall weather feel - ugh!

Anyway, to help with that fall weather feeling, I decided to create a Christmas card for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches...this challenge is #149

Every year, I promise my card class ladies that they will have 20 handmade cards to give out at Christmas time.  And so, I always start in August - yes August!

It makes Christmas time a touch less stressful - and they get to cross something off of their long list of things to do!

So I decided to use a very special favourite stampset and it's coordinating framelit from last year - can you guess which one?  Yep, the Festive Flurey.  The stampset is still available but only until August 27th!

Hello my stampin' friends!

Glad you stopped by today!  The card I have to show you today is one I have been wanting to try for a while now - do you have a card like that on your list?

I have seen different versions of it online in many places and I just loved it!  So it is a CASE (create and share everything), but I am not sure who to give the credit to for the original creation.  

I have been waiting - not sure why - for the opportunity to use this new set from the Annual Catalogue.....Work of Art!  I have seen SO many great uses for these wonderful images!  I think it has to be one of my favourite stampsets!

  

The tip I have to offer for this card, is to start with the bottom colour first.  For some reason, I was able to fit all the colours on the card when I started at the bottom and not the top - yep this was my second try.  ;)

I chose the colours from the brights collection so there wasn't any stress to match colours - I love that about our colour collections!

Traveler meets Stampin' Royalty Challenge #240

Hello there!

Thanks for stopping by again!  I have a great card to show you today that can be used for any occasion including a masculine card!  That is always a hard one for me!

I decided to participate in the challenge over at Stampin' Royalty!  The challenge was to use a background stamp!  I love it!  I knew exactly which stamps sets I was going to use.  

I dusted off my World Map stamp for my background stamping and my Traveler stampset for my main image and Sassy Salutations for my greeting.

The Deco Framelits were a perfect fit for the train image and the next size bigger as a frame to put it center stage.

I added some seambinding ribbbon in Soft Sky to add a pop of colour and a little finishing touch.  I just love all of these colours together - Very Vanillia, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Soft Sky - very soothing.

I'm back with Hand Stamped Sentiments 191

Hello my stampin' friends!

Thank you for checking in - I am back from some much needed and unplanned vacation time with my family!  

We did lots of visiting, camping and cottaging - I hope to have some scrapbook pages that capture all if it to show you in the next little while.

To get my card making juices flowing again, besides drooling over the new catalogues, I thought I would partake in the challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments, in particular challenge 191!

I just love the colours in this challenge although they are a bit outside of my comfort zone - so to tackle that, I turned to some DSP that I have been hording - yes, I have a little problem  lol.

I chose to use the Fabulous Florets stampset - awesome for summer projects as well as the And Many More from the new Annual catalogue - so many great sentiments in that one, really a must have.

I added a flower using the smallest flower punch I own and a center with the 1/2 inch circle punch out of some of the scraps of DSP.  A little silver ribbon to finish it all off.
