Halloween with Roger's Daytime TV

Happy Halloween everyone!

Today is a very exciting day at our house.  The pumpkins are getting carved and the candy put into bowls and the costumes are all ready to go!

To help with the spirit of Halloween, I have pictures of the projects I made for my latest segment of Roger's Daytime TV.  As always, I have SO much fun participating in these segments and promoting Stampin'UP! to our local viewers.

My first picture is of three different treat holders using the Fry Box Die.

I created lots of different square pillow boxes using our new Square Pillow Box Framelits die. I decorated them using a variety of different stamps.  Here are some with Sweet Hauntings 'tombstones' as well as Howl-o-ween Treat stampset with coordinating Boo to You Framelits.

My Season to Season Wreath Project Kit done up with the Halloween favours and ribbon.

Another Square Pillow Box die using a window sheet - I must admit it was a little tricky, but it sure looked cute!

This Pillow Box is my favourite - vellum!  You can just barely see the candy corn treats inside.  The stamps are from Sparkly Seasons, the witches hat is from the Boo to You Framelits and 'spooky' is from Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies that coordinates with the Sparkly Seasons stampset.

A few more pillow boxes...

A close up of my Fry Boxes.

My final treat holder is a CASE from my stampin' idol, Erica Cerwin.  She is a genius!  Here is a link to her video creating this little guy.

And finally a little Halloween card.

I hope this helps get you into the Halloween spirit.

Spooky with Hand Stamped Sentiments

Hey stampers,

I have a spooky card for you today that I created with the sketch inspiration over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  I thought it was a perfect match for some of my Halloween supplies.

Here is the sketch..SPOOKY isn't it?

So, the first thing I saw was a big pumpkin face in the circle, can you see it?  I also wanted to use some of the fabulous Halloween paper that is in the DSP pack from the Holiday catalogue.  My next 'had to use' was my Black Glimmer paper!  I used it for the stars and the sentiment.

Here is my card.....

The stampset and framelits are a coordinating set from the Holiday Catalogue (bundled to get the 15% discount) called Sparkly Seasons.  I just love that this set can be used for Halloween, Christmas and even just winter celebrations.  And the framelits words that are included are great to add to your cards.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to see all of the wonderful cards created over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  AND be sure to stop back tomorrow when I will have pictures of all of my display and projects I used for the Halloween special at Roger's Daytime TV!

Merry Christmas?

Hello all,

Can you believe it is just a little more than 2 months 'till Christmas!?  Have you started your cards?  I always find it easier if I do a little bit at a time.  SO.....I start holding Christmas card classes in August (yes, that reads August) and I host 1 per month through to December.  That way, my customers have a stash of hand made cards to give before all that Christmas rush begins!

The card I have to show you today is a Christmas card that I created in September.  I made this card for my besties to make while we were at our Women's Wellness Weekend - the BEST weekend of the year!  We participate in some of the planned activites, arm knitting was one of them (it was totally fun) but mostly we scrapbook and talk and giggle!  Anyhow, we made this card while we were there.

Aren't these little snowmen adorable?!  The Snow Friends set with matching framelites were top of my list to get from the Holiday catalogue! LOVE them. The framelits make cutting-out these little guys and all of their accessories so easy.  It was like making paper dolls.

I wanted to give them some snow to stand in front of but leaving some room for stamping at the bottom.  So I used my decorative dots embossing folder and left the bottom of the cardstock sticking out of the bottom of the embossing folder and made sure my acrylic plates didn't go beyond the embossing folder - that gave me some flat stampin' room.

My card base is Cherry Cobbler and my DSP is Whipser White and Cherry Cobbler.  The inks I chose are Base Black Archival ink, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch

Hello there,

I have a card to show you today that was made with the card sketch inspiration at Paper Craft Crew Challenges #166 (PCCCS166).  Be sure to stop in there and see all of the wonderful cards that were created using this sketch!

Here is the sketch they had...

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 166

And here is my card.....

I just LOVE fall and it is back here in Ontario after a quick blast of the white fluffy stuff on the weekend.  So, to celebrate seeing the beautiful leaves again, I wanted to create a fall inspired card and the Sheltering Tree stampset was calling my name!  lol

I really love how the Sheltering Tree can be used for all four seasons, making it a good set for any collection.

My patterned paper is from the Into The Woods DSP pack in the Holiday catalogue and I think these yellow leaves are one of my favs along with the two colours of woodgrain.

I couldn't resist adding a little acorn using the new acorn builder punch, it can also be found in the Holiday catalogue.  Very cute and polishes off the card.

This card was really fun to make.  Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Celebration Challenge Time!

Hi there!  It's Stampin' Celebration Challenge time and I am excited to show you the card that I made with our sketch challenge this week.

But, first I must tell you we had our first snow fall of the year!  Can you believe it?!  It isn't completely unusual to have some snow in central Ontario this time of year, but I am SO not ready for it and would rather be enjoying the beautiful fall colours we are having.

Because I created my card last week, I was totally inspired by the beautiful fall leaves that were all around and not Christmas or the snow that I saw yesterday.  That's ok, the snow is melting already.

Before I show you may card, let me show you the sketch inspiration.....

and now here is the card I created....

I focused on the three triangles and thought about what I could use in 3s.  That's where my leaves came in and I loved how they turned out!

I am not an experienced water colourer, but it was much easier than I thought.  Here is how I did it.....I brought out my water colour paper and my Aqua Painter pen.  I used the ink in the lids of my ink pads and blended Tangleo Twist, Hello Honey, Real Red, BlackBerry Bliss and Early Espresso.  I just blended and blended until I saw the colours that I wanted.  Then, I used my heat to to help my paper dry.  It is very important your paper is dry before moving onto the next step.

Then, I took my Early Espresso Ink and stamped my leaves right over the water colouring.  If your paper isn't dry, your stamped image becomes very 'fuzzy' as the water in the paper changes the lines in your stamped image.  I know this from experience.  lol  Finally, I die cut them with the matching framelits.

My greeting is from Acorny Thank you stampset.  I thought it was a cute match up with the 'falling' leaves.  lol  I punched out my greeting with my Decorative Label Punch - one of my all time favourites.  And to give my greeting some extra attention, I also punched out an Early Espresso label and cut it in half on the long side and glued it to the back of my label with the greeting.  This makes a little bit of a frame.

I polished my card off with some Linen Thread and a wooden embellishment from the Into the Woods Elements pack.

Be sure to stop on over to Stampin' Celebration Challenge blog and submit your entry.  We LOVE to see what you create!

Fabulous Fall with Roger's Daytime TV!

Hello Stampers,

Thanks for stopping by today, I am SO glad you did!  I have been a bit behind on my blogging and have so many great things to show you in the next couple of weeks - I have been really busy in my craft room.

Today, I want to give you the details of my Thanksgiving TV appearance with Roger's Daytime.  I always LOVE preparing for and being on the show!  It is such an honour every. single. time!  I am so very proud to say, I am starting my fifth season with this fabulous production.

For Thanksgiving, there were SO many great products to choose from, it was hard to decide.  Below are the products I chose....

My very first product I wanted to show and display was a kit. It is the Season to Season Wreath - 3 seasons wrapped in one kit - very economical and a lot of fun to put together.

I wanted to create some thanksgiving / fall inspired hostess thank you gifts.  So, one of first thoughts was to create a wine bottle tag with some of our new fab options from the Holiday Catalog!  Here is one I made using some Early Espresso and Tangelo Twist cardstock, Into the Woods DSP, Happy Scenes Stampset, Cotton Ribbon and and Into the Woods Embelishment.

I also made lots and lots of treat bags.  I make sure I have enough for the hosts of the show and the camera crew - they are so lovely to work with, so they deserve a little treat!  I made 4 different types of tags.  Here is a close up of three and the forth is the background of my wine bottle tag photo - to the right.  Sorry, I didn't get a close up of that one for some reason. lol.  It had punch art pumpkin on it.

Anyway, I used some more fab products, the Acorny Thank you Stampset and matching punch, Among the Branches Stampset, Vintage Leaves with matching framelits and the Cheer all Year Stampset.  I used the Ornate tag topper punch - it helps making tags SO much faster - think Christmas gift tags!

The bags themselves were some of our 4x6 Cello bags and others were made with the Muslin bags!  We made the Muslin bags live on air and we stamped right onto them using Vintage Leaves stampset.  We also made the and the Pumpkin punch art tag live on air as well.

I also made 3 different sized paper pumpkins - they are fun to make. I added some more leaves and some curled cardstock on top to help with the pumpkin look.

And last, my favourite - a K-cup holder!  I will start by saying the idea of a K-cup holder was not mine.  Eric Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Designs came up with this beauty!  You can watch her video tutorial here.  This project starts with the Tag a Bag Gift boxes, which I have overlooked in the Annual Catalogue thousands of times - not any more!

I decorated mine differently, using the products I was highlighting for the show.  More Vintage Leaves, Among the Branches greeting and some more Into the Woods DSP.  I added an Early Espresso Deco Label to frame my greeting and some new cotton ribbon.

Inside the box are three different pumpkin flavoured coffees, perfect for your host to enjoy after the big cleanup!  I know I will be making more of these!  And can't you just see these decorated up for Christmas!  My oh my!

I hope all of my Canadian friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving and my American friends will be enjoying theirs soon!

I am looking forward to making some fun and spooky Halloween displays for my next appearance on Daytime later this month.  But, until then, please stop by to see the other projects I have been working on.

Stampin Celebration Challenge Time!

Hello stampers!

Welcome back.  We have a wonderful challenge over at Stampin Celebration Challenge this week!  It has fabulous, fun pictures to inspire you.  Here is our challenge inspiration...

The first thing I noticed were the colours - bright blues and bold oranges - such a fun combo, don't ya think?  The second thing my eyes ran to, was the orange chevron pattern on what I think is burlap and the third thing that really jumped out at me was the hardwood strips behind the flowers.

I am so excited to show you the card I created!  Here it is.....

I started with a Crumb Cake card base then added a layer of Night of Navy cardstock stamping my Hardwood background stamp using Night of Navy Ink!  I have been wanting to try this in a while - I just LOVED how it turned out!

I wrapped the Night of Navy layer with a strip of my burlap ribbon and then layered a strip of Pumpkin Pie Chevron DSP onto the top of the ribbon.

My flower was created using Pumpkin Pie Ink on Pumpkin Pie cadstock. I stamped it with the flower from the Crazy about You stampset.  I did this twice and layered my flowers in a staggered sort of way.  My flower center was just a scap of Night of Navy punched with the Petite Petals Punch.

The greeting I chose is from the set And Many More - a fabulous set that has SO many wonderful greetings - a must have!  It was stamped in Night of Navy onto Curmp Cake cardstock.

I polished my card off with some some twine.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out my blog later in the week for the some fall projects I am making for my next appearance on Roger's Daytime!  I am really looking forward to being a part of their show again this year!
