Need a Custome Size Gift Bag?

Hi there!

Whew - I made it through last week...card classes, end of school year, 7 year old birthday party - oh my!  So very glad it's the weekend!

Have you seen the newest punch board from Stampin'up! ?  It is a gift bag punch board - so you can create your own gift bags!  I just love this thing!

I had a chance to play with mine a lot for my latest visit to the TV show Daytime.  You can see my post about the projects I made here.  For the show, I made the 3 standard sized gift bags that you can make with the board - 2 3/4 ", 3 1/4" and 3 3/4" wide.

I wanted to create custom sized gift bags for my two youngest son's teachers to hold their thank you gifts which were 5 1/2" wide.  It took a little adjusting, but it worked!

Here are the bags....

I used some Very Vanilla cardstock for the bag itself and then I dressed up the front with some DSP and matching cardstock.  I also used up the last of my Chevron Ribbon.

My middle son had a male teacher this year, so I used some of the great Typeset DSP from the new Annual Catalogue and then I framed it with some Basic Black Cardstock.  I added a few banners using my new Triple Banner Punch and finally a bow, yep even for a male teacher - I just couldn't resist!

For my youngest son's teacher, I used a bit more feminine colours.  I found some retired DSP in my stash that matched the ribbon I had as well as the card I made for her.  I framed the DSP with some Sahara Sand Cardstock which was also a colour from her card.  And again, I made some banner's and finished it off with a bow.

Here is Stampin'UP!'s video on how to use the Gift Bag Punch Board.

If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I will get back to you.

Teacher Thank you with Case This Sketch

Hi there!

Today, I wanted to show you a card I made for my regular card class and to use a teacher thank you card.

I hopped on over to Case This Sketch to get an idea for a layout and here is the sketch they had for us....

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXwjn5xPj_VDG-gfGBb7GWa-SRMuSssRC1D1IHl2mz6uQnu11RMYXBxGCZwsg27RkhvbZyYXTCfkr-spB3s7ZM7deRRcEwZYnLPY12kbQ94faKhDiypc3DgtY8o1N19jMvHWjjQD5LaB8/s1600/CTS_128.jpg

And, here is the card that I made...

Awesome layout eh?  Perfect opportunity to use my Hello You Thinlits!  I used some retired DSP paper from last year's Halloween pack - love when I can do that.

I wanted to pair the Sahara Sand colours with a bright colour, so I chose Calypso Coral for the 'thanks' and my flower. The flower was made using the Flower Medallion Punch and the matching Petal Potpourri Stampset

Don't forget to add some detail to the inside of your card - always a nice surprise when the inside has a little special touch.
I plan to give this to my almost (he has his birthday tomorrow) 7 year old's teacher.  She is the best grade one teacher he could ask for!

Just Add Ink for a Teacher Thank you!

Hello there,

I hope your week is off to a really great start!

This week I am busy making teacher thank you gifts and cards for my kids to take to school with them - the count down is on and they are just SO exctied to be finished school!

I stopped on over to Just Add Ink for some inspiration and what did I see...

Just Add Ink #267....Just Add Typography!

I am sure everyone is having the same thought....what does that mean?  So they also gave us the definition:
"Using font or type to create print"

So, I had a great idea.  Use the paper from the new lightweight DSP paper pack.  One of the sheets has big bold numbers on it and the colour scheme is Basic Black and Very Vanilla - perfect for my two older son's who have male teachers!

Here is my card...

I wanted to use up some of my Chalkboard paper that has recently retired (sniff, sniff) a great option for a teacher card, don't  you think?
I wanted to coordinate the gift bag so I used some of this great DSP to cover the side of a paper gift bag.  Inside, I added some treats with handmade tag.

Thank you for stopping by!

Stampin Clelebration Sketch SC107

Hello and welcome!

I am SO excited to have been chosen to be a designer for the Design team at Stampin' Celebration Challenge blog!  What an honour!

Our challenge this week is a sketch - I just love sketch challenges.  They always help me to expand my card designs.  Here is the sketch that we were working with....
...and here is my card....

If you are just getting to know me and my blog, I have three wonderful boys and all three have birthdays in the second half of June!  So, I wanted to use this sketch to make a great card for my youngest who is turning 7 on the 25th.

I chose the stampset Sea Street and the classic nautical colours red, white and blue.  I used my circle framelits to create the cut outs for our little sea creatures to pop out from.  The crab and lobster just make me smile.

I used my Bitty Banner Framelits to cut the banner for my greeting as well as the frame for my greeting.  And, the Happy Birthday has come from my brand new Sprinkles of Life stampset.

Be sure to check out all of the great cards over at Stampin' Celebration and join the fun.  We can't wait to see what you create!

World's Greatest Dad, Mojo Monday Style

Hey there,

Forgive me for being a bit late on my posts this week.....June is SUCH a busy moth for me!  All three of my boys celebrate their birthdays, in Ontario school ends (teacher gifts, bus driver gifts - you get the idea) and last but not least.....Father's Day!  And, I am a lucky girl who get's to celebrate two wonderful father's of my own as well as a terrific Husband and Father-in-law!  Lots of celebrating this month at my house.

To help with all of this gift giving, I went on over to Mojo Monday (MOJO401) - well actually, I am a subscriber to their e-mails, so their ideas land right in my inbox - and got some great card layout inkspiration so to speak  ;)

Here is my card....

And here is the sketch layout.....

So, how did I do?

There were a few things I knew I wanted to use for this card - the Guy Greeting Stampset  that was carried over to the new Annual Catalogue (yah) as well as the new ultra lightweight DSP from the new Annual Catalogue - perfect for adding to a card.  All of the dads in my life are very mechanical, so I was so happy to see the tools in this stampset.  Now, just to decide which dad to give it to.  lol

Happy Stampin'!

Stampin' Celebration SC105

Hello there,

Thanks for stopping by.  Today, I have a card I created using the sketch challenge over at Stampin' Celebration!  I just love the cards these ladies create for us - they are SO talented.  Be sure to stop on over an have a look....if you weren't already there.  ;)

Here is the sketch they had for us....

And, here is the card I created!  What do you think?

I wanted to use some fun bright colours for my card.  I thought this pattern from the Sweet Dreams DSP was perfect and it is just days past retirement.  I layered it with some Curshed Curry cardstock over a Whisper White card base.

I thought this sketch was the  perfect opportunity to use my framelits to make a shape frame for my focal point - I just love how this turned out (it was my first time trying it).  To do this, you use two sizes of the framelits, one inside the other then cut them out using your Big Shot - all at the same time!  My stars were made in Bermuda Bay.   Beautiful next to the curry, it makes me think hot and tropical.  Then I added a small star using the smallest size from the framelit collection to fill in the middle.

My greeting is from the stampset And Many More - this set is a must have!  It has every holiday in there - I am sure getting my money's worth on this one.

And then last but never least, I added some bakers twine.

Off to begin my father's day creations.

Happy Stampin'

Tammy
